A bit about me and my work
I have a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours from Ryerson University, and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto. I was awarded the Ontario Graduate Scholarship for academic excellence for my studies at Ryerson University. I was trained in Brief Solution Focused therapy and Narrative therapy while at my Masters placement at the Hinks-Dellcrest Centre. My couples therapy uses Emotionally Focused therapy while both my individual and couples work has the Attachment Theory as a basis. I began in private practice in 1999.
During my 40 years working as a social worker I worked with people who were very vulnerable. These people dealt with early childhood trauma, sexual abuse, bullying, and addiction. They taught me that no matter what life gives us we can overcome the difficulties; each one of us has the answers to the issues we face within us. We just need a little help in finding those solutions.
I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I am also registered with the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
To ensure that the quality of my work remains of the highest standard I have both a clinical supervisor and a peer supervision group which is comprised of four other therapists who also do psychotherapy.
My work in Attachment Therapy is supervised by Annett Kussin.
I actively search out and partake in further training that will keep my skill level high.
You will find me to be an astute listener and an empathic, non-judgemental person.
